MEDIABEACON – R3VOLUTION Single User License, DAM(Digital Asset Management Software) for Mac Macintosh Version

MediaBeacon is a unique digital asset management solution that is both versatile and functional while maintaining stability and protecting assets. ASSET MOBILITY Other asset management systems hold their users hostage: once a file has been imported into the system, it is difficult to export and virtually impossible to export with metadata. MediaBeacon frees your data, enhances your access, and puts you in control. MediaBeacon stores all of the asset information: thumbnail views, extended views, metadata (in XML format) and the original file on the server in an open, easy to use format. Exporting an asset and its metadata is as easy as copying its folder. Moving an asset from one MediaBeacon server to another only requires a single folder copy, not a computer scientist and a network administrator. PDF CATALOG We all love the Internet, but we also know that it is not appropriate or accessible in every situation. MediaBeacon can generate PDF catalogs for groups of assets. This catalog can be saved, printed, or emailed, so you can share assets offline, online, or over coffee. The PDF file even maintains links to the original MediaBeacon server, and users can click on assets in the PDF catalog to open them online. CD/DVD Production MediaBeacon offers optional integration with the Rimage Amigo II for automated CD-ROM and DVD-ROM production. The Amigo II offers a networked, and fully automated, single recorder system that allows MediaBeacon users to create customized CDs or DVDs for customers or archival purposes on-demand. The Amigo II also features the Everest printer as a standard feature. The MediaBeacon/Rimage combination offers your employees, customers, and partners the ability to copy assets and all associated metadata to CD or DVD with thumbnails of the assets printed on the media. All CD or DVD production is managed through MediaBeacons web interface and is fully integrated with the Amigo II. MediaBeacon tracks all CD or DVD production in its usage log to
What other careers could my husband go into that correspond with Loss Prevention/Asset Protection?!?
Sunday, September 20th, 2009
My husband has been working in the Loss Prevention/Asset Protection field for 8 years now. He started as a Loss Prevention detective (catching shoplifters) and worked all the way up to a District Loss Prevention Manager position last year. Sadly, he was laid off and since then he was forced to take another detective position. There aren’t any companies where we live, that are hiring for upper management Loss Prevention positions and I was wondering if anyone else had started in Loss Prevention and what jobs they were able to go into, that are closely related with Loss Prevention. Any advice would help as we are living paycheck to paycheck. Thanks!
After 20-plus years in the LP field, I can tell you from first hand experience, it’s very easy to work yourself into a corner by becoming too specialized. LP professionals are typically very well versed in the operational side of the business and hence can often make the transition to store ops or general manager, especially when still at the District or Regional stage of their career.
All too often, however, the typical LP guy hates the idea of being a line manager in the retail field and finds it impossible to overcome their personal distaste for the position.
I highly recommend pursuing a CFE or other certification that will assist him with transitioning to a fraud-related position, particularly in the banking and financial crimes arena. The LP professional should be looking at expanding into Ethics and Compliance management as well, since this is a growing field for the future. Look up the ECOA and the Society of Corporate Ethics and Compliance for more info.
Being too narrowly focused at this stage is the wrong approach – if you gear yourself to climb the ladder in the corporate LP world, you could find yourself lacking in marketable skills when the layoff occurs. I know from personal experience.
Best of luck!
